The Weight of One Mountain

A split-channel view of a mountain, cut out of its landscape and floating in an uncertain limbo. The two channels are in sync at first, but drift apart over time, drawing back the curtain on the contrived nature of the video, and fully utilizing the dual-perspective. A writing sprawls across the video, prompting the viewer to think of the mountain as a concept rather than as a finite object, ironically so. Lastly, the audio of the piece mirrors the nebulous themes, presenting uncertain but vaguely tactile sounds that come to a cacophony, driving home the abstract nature of the piece while referencing the roots of the inspiration, the ecosystem of a mountain.
